Description

Within days of the tragic death of Diana, Princess of Wales, on August 31, 1997, a memorial fund was established. From this, along with a range of funded projects, The Diana Award emerged. The Diana Award is a legacy to Princess Diana’s belief that young people have the power to change the world for the better. It identifies and develops young people, then engages them in social action. Coming as it did, at the dawn of the internet era, twenty years on, we explore the role of technology in young people’s lives. We look at the emergence of social media and how the UK Government has responded. We look at the role of industry and above all, how Diana’s legacy has evolved to meet the needs of young people in an increasingly connected and digital world.

THE EVENT

Hosted by the WCIT Government Panel and moderated by Freeman Dave Miles, we have three outstanding guest speakers. Each presentation will last a total of around 45 minutes, with 15 minutes Q&A.
